My first task during my design fellowship at Chronicle Books was to develop the Modern Playhouse. This product was one of the first MoMA Modern Kids products that Chronicle Books worked on in collaboration with MoMA education team.
The complete product includes a set of punch-out furniture with reversible patterns for seating and table top surfaces. Not shown in these images are detachable stickers of additional furniture silhouettes and home accessories.
Project brief: design a family set to accompany the Modern Playhouse. This product has to include a complete family and clothings, in the form of removable stickers. Due to limited budget, we tried to have as many pieces as possible with the amount of material that we have, hence the addition of pets, and the idea that the packaging itself can be used as a furniture.
Final design and production were passed on to the next Industrial Design Fellow.
